It could have helped me to answer this if you are more clear on your question by mentioning complete error message. However, it seems K7 is not able to establish a secure connection as in Windows XP, it does not support SSL secure connection.

In order to get K7 update, you can re-install the product with their latest version from https://www.k7computing.com/in/free_downloads which supports HTTP and HTTPS connection for both updates and activate.

Also, I would like to inform you that XP systems are more vulnerable if any possibility to upgrade your OS then please do it to be secure.
