Scenario: K7 Software may not install properly due to malware already present on the system. This KB provides steps to disinfect the system using the K7 Disinfector tool and reinstall the K7 security product. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure the infection is removed and the product is successfully installed.
Steps to Perform:
- Download Required Files:
- Download the following files and save them in the C:\ directory:
- Boot the System in Safe Mode:
- Boot your system in Safe Mode.
Click Here to view the procedure to boot into safe mode.
- Close All Applications:
- Ensure that no applications are open, and avoid working on the machine during the following steps.
- Run NewCleaner.bat File:
- Navigate to C:\, right-click on the NewCleaner.bat file, and select Run as administrator.
- Run K7 Disinfector Tool:
- Allow the K7 Disinfector tool to scan the system.
- Once the scan is complete, the tool will prompt you to reboot the machine. Reboot when prompted.
- Run K7 Removal Tool:
- After the machine restarts, run the K7 Removal tool to remove any existing installations of K7.
- Reinstall the K7 Product:
- Download and install the latest K7 product after completing the removal process.
While the disinfection process is running, do not open any files or applications, as this may lead to re-infection.
