Cab file downloaded has been corrupted

Scenario: While updating, you may get a CAB error from K7 in the Windows Operating system. 

Steps to follow:

Method 1: Running the SHA1 Certificate Patch Tool

  1. Download the tool: K7 SHA1 Certificate Patch.
  2. Run the tool: Once downloaded, execute the file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Retry update: After running the tool, attempt to update the K7 product again. If the problem is not solved still please proceed to method 2. 

Method 2: Reinstalling K7 Security Product

  1. Download the K7 Removal Tool: K7 Removal Tool.
  2. Run the removal tool: Execute the file to uninstall the existing K7 product from your system. The system will restart after the removal process.
  3. Download the latest K7 setup: After the restart, download the latest K7 product setup from this link: K7 Latest Setup.
    • Important: Do not install from a CD. Always use the latest setup file from the above link.
  4. Install the product: Run the newly downloaded setup file and follow the installation steps.
  5. Activate the product: Use your existing serial key to activate the product after installation.
