Fix for K7 Security Alert Issue 'High Security Threat Found - Scan crash o detected.'

Issue:- We're aware that some users are seeing a continuous alert from K7 stating, 'High Security Threat Found - Scan crash o detected.' and we have already released an update to fix the issue. Please open K7, click on 'Check for recent Update, ' to apply the fix.

Problem: Some clients are experiencing difficulties accessing the console or updating the endpoints.

Steps to follow: 


1. For Clients Accessing the Console:

Change the endpoint update path to the Internet, to change it follow this procedure - 

  • Open the K7 console.
  • Go to Manage Devices.
  • Select the appropriate Policy.
  • Click on Edit Policy.
  • Navigate to the Update section.
  • Change the update path to Use Internet.
  • Apply the changes and update the clients.

Update the clients by running the update process.

2. For Clients Unable to Access the Console:

  • Navigate to the following directory:
    • C:\ProgramData\K7 Computing\K7WS\Cache
  • Delete the contents of this folder.
  • Update any one endpoint.
  • Verify that the client has been updated to version 12.190.54321.
Once confirmed, the issue should be resolved.
